A World Undone: The Story of the Great War, 1914 to 1918
G. J. Meyer, 2007
This overview of World War I is a very good combination of three different elements: a narrative of significant events during the war (which makes for interesting reading), an overview of the course of the war (which puts it all in perspective), and an analysis of the right and, mostly, wrong decisions that determined the way the war was conducted on land and sea and in the air. Highly recommended.
